Theme: Public Relations Beyond Borders: Context, Culture and Communities
The Asia-Pacific Public Relations Research and Education Network's (APPRREN) International Research Symposium provides a platform for public relations scholars across the Asia Pacific region to connect and share ideas. To facilitate mutual understanding about the ways in which we teach and research public relations, and all its variations, in our respective context, the Symposium provides an opportunity to network, discuss emerging trends and challenges, as well as to explore collaborative opportunities.
This year's Symposium will be hosted by Curtin University in Perth, Western Australia, conveniently located in the GMT/UTC+8 time zone. The symposium will be held at one of Curtin's city venues - the heritage-listed Old Perth Boys' School - providing delegates with a broad range of accommodation, dinner and excursion options to choose from.
The International APPRREN Research Symposium will be held in conjunction with the International Cross-Cultural Communication Conference (6-7 February, 2020). Delegates have the opportunity to register for the additional day (Friday 7 February) below.
Please refer to the Call for Abstracts for details on submitting abstracts that reflect the theme. Abstracts are to be submitted by 14 October 2019.
Events planned include keynotes, academic papers, panel discussions, workshops and a welcome and networking event on Wednesday 5 February, in conjunction with the iCCC conference.
Conference fees will cover morning and afternoon tea plus a light lunch over two days, as well as the welcome function on Wednesday, 5 February.
